Looking for Historian's Input

Many thanks for all the input from everyone. I'm trying to draw information out of my dad (post stroke) so I hope to get more info to narrow the search soon. There is a mold and a bag of shot, so I plan to measure the caliber when it gets to me (being mailed). The possibility that it belonged to my great great grandfather did occur to me. Hopefully dad can help. I'll keep y'all posted on the search, as well as the final decision/identification.
