It was such a nice sunny day in Wisconsin yesterday that a buddy and I went to a range; he brought a 62 fowler and I took my virgin 58 Beck style rifle. While the target isn't great, I am well pleased with the first 5 shots. No other work-up was done and sight mods will wait until other loads are tested and I am more familiar with my rifle. Load was 80 gr. Goex 3fg, .018" patch, .570 RB at 277 gr. Lube was SPG soaked patches cut at the muzzle.

Nice! Thats about what my .58's first target looked like using 80gr 3F Graf, then I upped it to 90gr and it tightened right up right where I wanted it.

Nice--you're off to a great start. Enjoy your new rifle. Show us a better pic of it!

Well, I have posted some pictures a little earlier, but here are a couple more:

The rifle has a Premium Rice 42" Beck profile swamped .58 barrel with the round groove rifling. What a sweetheart to clean! Target was shot at 50 yards off a sandbag.

Very Nice! The round radius rifling is great! My 58 likes between 90 -100 grs. fff....Enjoy your new toy

Beautiful rifle... nice carving... good shooting... I'm jealous!!!

Strength & Honor...
