I'm wanting to learn and start making paper cartridges for my Walkers and Remington and navy revolvers all 44s are the lee molds for conicals at Cabelas ok for that and what kind of paper do I use Thanks. is there a thread in the forum covering this topic?

I picked up a lee .375 mold for a pietya .36 1851 Navy and did not care for it. Bullets were too big to load! Suppose they could be sized, but not sure what sizer is available. I have many Lee molds and all were fine except this one.

could also be an issue with the cylinder size.

If you need to size a bullet to make it work, here are the sizes that are available and they will also make a custom size if you need it. I have several Lee sizing kits and they work just fine. They will not lube the bullets as you go but you just put a little bit of Alox in a container and roll the bullets in it, let them dry and you are good to go. It's a whole lot cheaper than other sizing dies.

Not if the Revolver bullet mold is used
Lee-90382, casts at .450. The bullet is made for the 44 caliber cap and ball revolvers.
There's another larger 456 cast for Rugers.

There's been several topics about paper cartridge, everything from cig papers to nitrated paper to news print to printer paper, :idunno:

At .367" diameter the tail end of these slip into the chambers and are a tight close fit in this Pietta and a 1858 as well. The one inserted into the chamber shows how far it goes before hitting on the shear ring.
