I know this is a old thread but I'm not a skilled woodworker so when I decided I wanted to a L&R replacement lock for my Lyman I took it to the local shop to have it doneThe owner who is very capable said it was a nightmare not even close to drop in.The reason I'm posting this is for someone who is thinking about it.If you have the skill and time maybe. If you pay someone even at a very fair hourly rate NO I should have sold the Lyman and the money spend on the lock put toward a better gun.The shop owner treated me fine I should have put a little more thought into this.
