Would a early Ketland lock by Chambers with no bridle be proper on a pre-revolutionary Virginia rifle or would the Virginia fowler by Chambers be a better choice? The rifle will be brass mounted with a sliding patch box, maple for wood, single trigger, and a 44" swamped barrel.

I have a Late Ketland also. Excellent lock. I like the Early Ketland even better.
