I have a fine, single barrel 10 guage muzzleloader, inscribed "Joseph Egg, No 1 Picailly London. Inventor of copper caps.

I'm an old geezer and bought it in 1967.

Still shoot it regulary.

No question about its authenticity.

Simply have not been able to find anyone who has one, other than a musem in Melborne, Australia.

He, and his uncle, Durs were much more famous forn their pistols.

Anyone else sen one of these?
 
Yes, I've seen lots of joe Egg's stuff and used to own a durrs Egg fowling gun. Nothing but top notch stuff from those two.
 
I have a 14 gauge double built by his son Henry Egg in the early 1850's, I think at the same adress. I have some information on the Eggs (but not here) which you probably have already. I'll look for it if you wish.
