japanese matchlock

I'm building a matchlock (16th century Petronel) and a friend is also building a matchlock- 16th century japanese... Does anyone know any good resources for him out there.

I helped him out, with a friend, on the lathe last weekend. He had an old muzzleloader barrel that was out of commision. It was straight octagon. We tried to turn it so that it looked more oriental.

They're all going to similar with more or less ornate trim.

The biggest challenge with these guns is the breech plug, the Japanese made these with an extra long plug. You can always use a more typical short plug but you'll have to adjust the pan, lock plate and serpentine to fit.
