William Briggs, circa 1860s, is one gunsmith that made guns with all metal stocks. I've looked him up as his shop was about a mile from my home. Just a quirky trivia thing, but most of his patents were unusual underhammer guns.

It’s serial number 27 out of 50.

I have not shot it. One day soon I hope. I have several antiques I’ve worked over that need firing. One of these days…

Here is an iron stocked rifle from the shop of William Billinghurst. Used in experiments and trials, the forging scale on the stock still exists.
