Yes you can touch a continuous rim tile blade and not get cut. Many of the newer designed blades are segmented or fluted, they will lace you wide open.
It’s very common for a tile setter to keep a finger on a continuous rim blade when cutting porcelain or certain granites, it keeps the blade from walking off its intended path.
I use a spindle diamond grinder, we use for shaping stained glass pieces. It is a wet grinder with a sponge insert for keeping the work wet. Makes short work of shaping flints.
