Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
Has anyone tried these in a TC Hawken with 1 in 48" twist? I picked some up and plan to try them sometime this week. I was wondering what kind of accuracy shooters have gotten with this bullet.
I had a box of them once, as I recall they worked well. It's been a while but they were easy to load and accurate. I like a plain old patched roundball and they didn't suit me.
If you like them, look for more. Unless someone else has started making them again, the original source dried up a long time ago.
I'm real fond of the 58 cal Hornady Great Plains bullet, for example. When they dropped them from their listings I searched around and found about a dozen boxes. Now I have a steady stream of fans beating a path to my door. Nope, NFS! :rotf:
I tried them in my .54 Trade Rifle which had the 1:48 ROT and got good accuracy. Buffalo Bullets used to make these Ball-ets in a number of different calibers but stopped and the .50 PA-Conical is the only one still in production by Hornady.
I've got a few boxes of them too but nothing to shoot them out of. Next time I am in the states I will bring them with me and post them to you. That way customs won't take them.
