Hello folks,
I'm Gerry Johnson, retired cartographic technician with an interest in firearms and shooting, and reloading. I was in Calais Maine a few years ago and tried to buy a box of .22 ammo in WalMart. I was told I couldn't buy ammo because I was not an American citizen. The clerk remarked that it seemed foolish that he couldn't sell me a box of .22 shells but he could sell me a .50 cal muzzleloader. I said, where are the muzzleloaders? I left with my first, a CVA Bobcat for $69.95. After spending about $100 more for accessories, I heades for the range. I was hooked. Last year I bought a CVA Hawken and this year, 2 pistols. The next item on my want list is a left hand flintlock. My main problem is finding enough time to shoot everything.

Welcome and keep this in mind, there are some American citizen that can't buy ammo in this country too.

It's more than likely the 9/11 thing, not you personally.

I was not complaining but pointing out another one of the rediculous gun laws that are prevalent in both our countries. In Canada, a flintlock pistol is classed as a restricted weapon. I wonder when the last murder or bank robbery was commited with a flintlock firearm.
