I have a Pietta repro 1858 Remington: last time I took it to the range, the loading lever catch fell off of the bottom of the barrel! It looks like it was just soldered on there.

I’ve done some research and found that this is not an uncommon issue for the piettas, and that a potential solution is to buy a Uberti loading lever catch, and then dovetail it into the barrel.
Simple enough solution, but I do not have the gunsmithing tools or experience to do it.

if anyone here can do this, or knows someone who can, DM me and we will work out arrangements for me to send the pistol out to you, as well as compensation for your time and skills!
