What are the breakdown for guage to caliber? I have been looking at different smoothbores and some are listed as .XX caliber or XX guage. Just wondering if anyone had a breakdown chart for the conversion in popular sizes like 28ga-10ga maybe?

In the forum marked articles, charts, and links there is a chart of gauge to caliber. 20 gauge is 62 caliber, 28 is 56 caliber, 12 gauge is 729. Gauge is based on weight and caliber is the diameter in inches.

I have a small spreadsheet that will convert any size pure lead ball to it's correct gauge. If any of the members want a copy just pm me.
