Question on this grafs brand black powder, is it any good?

I was thinking of doing a large (for me at least) powder order from them, and this stuff seams reasonable in price. I am used to shooting Goex, which i have been buying for over $30 a pound in town.
I tried searching the forum, but didnt come up with anything...

Here is link to the fffg grafs:http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/5405

thanks,
Mike

Graf's powder has been mentioned several times on these forums. You should have been able to search for it.

In any event it is produced for Graf's by WANO. The powder is comparable to WANO, KIK and is slightly more prone to fouling than GOEX. It is a better powder than the reenactor grades.

I'd be interested in hearing too. Who actually makes it, is it just repackaged or does the original maker put Graf labels on it? My last bulk powder buy was 1991 ($3 a pound)

I have been considering a buy, but till I pay the hazmat and shipping, I might be more inclined to do a day trip to Back Creek and pick it up in person. (120 miles each way) Even if their powder costs a bit more.

Well the hazmat and shipping is still cheaper than a 240 mile trip but then why not take the S.O. and do some sightseeing in Winchester too. You can buy up to 50 pounds from Jackie and he has caps in stock at competitive prices. Every ounce of powder I have used in the past 40 years came from Back Creek Gun Shop with the exception of a couple of partial cans of DuPont I brought with me from Maine.

I'm a GOEX guy, wish I could help with the Grafs but other than trying Elephant once I have never shot any other powder.
