I haven’t shot bp in years. But be felt the pull again so I got my pietta 1851 navy out along with my pietta 1858 in 36 caliber—the navy version of that. Was a great day. Was using 375 balls in each but wasn’t getting a full ring of lead of the 1858. Seemed to seal good and seemed to give up some lead but not a nice full ring. I used bore butter to cover the ball even though I was also using wads. Both shot great. No misfires. The 1858 was hitting ten inch steel target at 35 yards no problem and I got the navy to print a 3 inch group at 25 yards. Was still 4 inches high but still!!!

Just shoot and load.... haven’t done that since I was a lot younger! I think I’m gonnabe looking for a new rifle here soon too!
