I recently bought a cva mountain rifle stock that has some really great wood. This will be my first attempt at pieceing a rifle together. This gun was a percussion gun originally and I want to make a flinter out of it.

My question is will I be able to put a flintlock on it? I want to make a PRB gun and have had great luck with green mountain barrels on my percussion guns,so I plan on using one. What's the best lock to use, and hardware for a first timer to use? I read a couple of the threads on browning, will this be too much for a first attempt? Even though most of the hard stuff is already done(stock carving and inletting) I am sure I will probably be asking a lot of stupid questions Thanks,WW

My friend got a Cva Mtn rifle and he conv it to flint got a lock from L&R one of their replacement locks works well . Barrel was cva .58 and it shoots good .
