  • Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.

We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.

If you must use a bore brush, only buy and use the ones that are made with the spiral wire core like this one. As long as you don't unscrew it in the bore, it will not get stuck. Simply twist it a quarter turn clockwise before reversing it. A sturdy range rod that won't break or come apart is also a good idea.

For those who don't see the important thing in curator's post, notice the twisted wire is going thru a hole in the threaded end. There is no crimped, folded or soldered joint holding things together.

To make it even clearer, in photo below, the one with the red slashed circle on it is a no-no, the one in green is what you want. I like like the Pro-Shots Product brand. Had the brushes nearby as I am in the middle of cleaning a couple of guns. 85, low humidity, sunny and no wind. Perfect day to shoot.
