First cannon. Powder ?

Bought a nice old mini cannon the other day, the bore is 7/16" and 5" long.
How much powder should I use in it?

Start small and work your way up. Start with 20 grains and see what happens. This should give a nice bang to begin with. When you feel comfortable firing it at that a few time work your way up 5-10 grains at a time. I alway figured that that what ever decimal equivalent is your bore opening equals the grainage. So your 7/16 is equal to .4375 or about 43 grains.
