Agree on the USPS advice. I use click-and-ship from my home. Easier and cheaper than driving to town and risking having to argue with some ignorant bureaucrat who thinks he is a know-it-all. I have used a hard plastic rifle case from Walmart that costs only $10.00. Cardboard boxes from the UPS store or U-Haul cost much more. The USPS on-line form asks nothing about firearms, only if you are shipping stuff that is dangerous, leaks, stinks, etc. I just put on porch and mail carrier picks up. Never a problem.
