The cold n wet weather had the pigs out today on the ranch, I killed couple yesterday evening with encore 06 but today I rode around the 3000 acre block I got here at the house n did some spot n stalk with the old cabelas 54 with 90gr 3f n 425gr conical, seen 3 different sounders n snuck up on each of them n popped a porker. They were so busy trying eat n root today the stalk was easy. Came home cleaned them n had some blackstrap and purple hulls for supper! Seen them all between 11am n 2pm was probably 50-60 total

O yeah!! This tract is hog heaven, patroon creek runs through the middle of it, has a 50 acre beaver pond, 13 man made ponds n tons of small creeks n branches feeding into the big creek. And very little pressure most of the year n plenty to eat

do you guys eat them after killing them? just curious?

Good job Mike, we got alot of water now pushed me out of the bottoms but ive got 2 traps set, alot of request for small pigs now. am able to get people some hogs and put some meat up for sausage making,. that .32 squirrel rifle i got from you drops them in the tracks in the traps 15 gr pyrodex p .310 rb .015 patch and head shot its cheaper to shoot my smoke pole than a .22

I hear ya I been saving my 22 bullets as well, been using blowgun on coons I been catching, those broadhead darts kills them n 15 seconds n they don’t bloody a set like a head shot coon and my clients want to eat the head as well

Had 5 large hogs come in to the feeder and run my does off yesterday evening.

One of them paid the price, It ran a lot further from the T/C 54 than I thought it would. It managed to get into the woods and had to go get the truck and rope to get it out. Guess the weight in the 200 lb. range, produced some nice back straps.

Her friends did not come back this morning.
