Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
I decided to make a day horn for short hunting sorties. It has a more traditional look. As you can see I like to hunt hogs when I can. Thanks for looking.
Looks like you have it set up for a strap. What are the dimensions on the horn.
I'm really fond of day horns, and this is a notable example. I've always carried mine loose in my bag, but the strap setup on yours has me thinking. Always a dangerous thing! :rotf:
Nice job on the horn and engraving! ...Question? Is it the angle of the horn in your picture or do you have the strap staple mounted sideways? Just wondering..can't tell for sure.
Thanks for the kind words! The horn is about a foot long, I put a Goex can in the pic for perspective. The staple was for a lace, that's why it's vertical, so it hangs right next to my bag. To color the white horn, I used Tandy water soluable saddle tan leather dye. I sealed it with Minwax flat wiping polyeurathane finish.
