I bought an old CVA frontier at a rummage sale this summer and the bore looks like it was never cleaned, it's long gone. I cleaned it up best I could and it actually doesn't shoot too bad. The bore just bothers me and I guess I bought it as a project. What's the chances of having it reamed to a smooth bore? Has anyone ever done this?

Little to none. The Spanish made barrel breech system isn't a good candidate for removing. There isn't a professional barrel maker that will do the job with these barrels because of that style breech.
Your better off just leaving it be or buy a new barrel from Deer Creek Products.
Here's a current thread about a buggered CVA breech of same style; http://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/301720/

If it shoots okay, just use it as your "beater" gun. You might even be able to get the bore/grooves "freshened" out.
