A while back I posted about a CVA .45 Kentucky I picked up from a friend for $150. I refurbished it and it is now finished and ready to join its siblings. Below are pictures of before and after.
I stripped the old finish from the barrel and stock. Then reblued the barrel with Birchwood Casey cold blue. Refinished the stock with Birchwood Casey Walnut stain to the color I wanted. Four coats of hand rubbed tru-oil. Polished all the brass, bought a new tang screw and barrel pins.
Today I reassembled it. The tru oil had four weeks to dry. May wax this fall before hunting season.
Next step, load her up and shoot her.
