I found what appears to be an unfired Traditions Crocket 32 cal in a shop. The bluing is a very deep and rich, very high quality. The stock of high gloss (not my taste) and quality as well. Were these factory finished like this? Did they make kits?

That describes mine exactly. It did need some tinkering, though. The lock and drum were such a tight fit that the barrel needed to be removed the get the lock out of the stock and the ramrod retaining spring screw was bearing pretty hard on the barrel. I shimmed the barrel up some to correct those problems. I plan to refinnish the stock to get away from the high gloss. Did you buy it?

Not yet, asking 398.00. Maybe get for 350.00. What’s a good price?

I have two percussion Crockett’s. Both came barely used and I paid $200 each at our local show from private sellers a few months apart. That was a couple of years ago but both came with some balls and precluded patches. Is the one you are seeing a flinter? I would love for one of mine to be a flintlock.

No my bad. Kinda new at posting, in wrong thread.Couldn’t figure out how to delete.

I don't think they are making them anymore! Best product they ever made and they don't have brains enough to see that.32 .36 .40 would give them a huge share of the market! I like mine.
Nit Wit

I'm a big fan of my Crockett. It can be a little temperamental from time to time, but that's the nature of our hobby.

What moonman said. $350 unfired is a fair price. Any less will only sweeten the deal.

Mine has that deep shiny blued finish on the barrel and shiny stock too. I like that look, but to each his own. It's really fun to shoot and very little kick, so I've let kids that show any interest at the range shoot it and they had fun. I think I used about 25 grains of powder, so a pound goes a long way.
