1862 Richmond Carbine made by Chiapa was bought brand new in 2020. I had a tall front sight installed by a gunsmith so I could shoot at targets distanced to 50 and 100 yards. The sight from the factory is meant for a 200 yard zero. This Carbine is no longer in production I was able to get the last one from Taylor’s and Company.

I have only taken this rifled musket to the range twice, both trips I shot paper patched Pritchett rounds, the rounds were impacting low on the 50 yard target. I have NOT adjusted the front sight yet to zero. 577 Cal lightly used in Very Good Condition $950 plus $45 shipping. Will trade for a Cook & Brother Rifle.

So tell me about the range trip.. I can't make out the photograph well enough to see the displayed information or the hits.
Does it still hit low with that really tall front sight?
How did it shoot with Minie' ball?
With round ball?
Ball size?
Velocity?

Hello....Am interested in this carbine. An earlier poster asked:

Does it still hit low with that really tall front sight?
How did it shoot with Minie' ball?
With round ball?
Ball size?
Velocity?

Could you please answer?

I looked at Chiappa website and it didn't mention....this is rifled, isn't it?

Also, just curious, how long have you had this and why are you selling? From where did you buy it? New/Used?

Ok.
All of your questions were addressed in the initial posting. Thank you

I see. Yes, they were. When I first saw the listing, all of the info wasn't there.
I read one review of the Chiappa Richmond musket that they could not remove the tang screw.
Have you tried to remove that screw on this carbine? Thanks.
