I've been to the MOFT twice and both times I went during Fur Trade Days. I took my small wedge tent and set up at the rendezvous 8 miles from the museum. I stayed there three days for the cost of the entry fee at the rendezvous ($25.00) and cooked and ate in my camp. The fellers there friendly and had some shoots to boot. It's a holesome cheap trip that way. The staff from the museum brought out a barrel of period punch (it had a little "something" in it) on Saturday night and there was a fiddler, banjo, bass and guitar for entertainment. By the time the punch was gone we were really tearin' it up! Mosquitos were terrrrrible, makes me itch remembering it but all in all it was a great time and worth the 1,450 mile round trip.
