I WAS ABOUT TO SUGGEST A COW'S KNEE. SOME VERY ACTIVE WASHINGTON STATE FOLK had them roomy enough that the flintlock was quite free to act.
Where get this tubular piece of leather is the main problem.

Except, animals tend to move more when it is raining (especially if the weather will get worse - that's when they find a place to ride out the weather) and I've seen more game in the rain. I've never let a little rain put my hunt on hold...

Absolutely agree, every deer I've harvested has been in the rain/ drizzle. No fancy scents, chemicals or modern camo. One well greased lock cover and the muzzle down. :)
