We hunt every year in the rain. Thats why we call it the Pacific North Wet.
A crayon makes a good water proofer around the pan and bottom of the frizzen.
The only time I every washed my pan was when wear my cocked hat.
I looked down and a stream of water poured right where I was looking.
My fix was to wear my hat backwards, water then ran out the sides on my frock shoulders.

Nice!!

Shot the Woodswalk on a Saturday at Friendship last year in the rain, heat , dripping humidity. I had a GRRW Hawken cap lock, the other 3 had flintlocks. I was mildly surprised that there was not a single misfire during the entire walk.
