Course you all know talented people can shoot right or left handed.... So lock position really shouldn't matter.. Never know when that critter will show up, or which side of the tree they will walk by... Just saying.

I learned how to shoot and handle a flintlock from a left handed rifle .My Buddy Lew taught me on his south paw rifle then lent it to me for a spell . Got powder burns in my left forearm to prove it too ! LOL :)

She'll be headed east soon .... Shot her today . She was shootin off the right too much so had to keep takin the barrel out and bending her left , stuck her under the cabin and tried to lift the cabin , LOL ... Got her shootin ta center . Walked her right in . Fast ignition .

It cut a trough through my arm so shirt wouldn't have helped , fat guys don't wear sleeves in the summer anyway , LOL ! I learned a valuable lesson . Flintlocks kill ( muzzle ), wound ( recoil ) and maim ( out touch hole ). :) true true
I still have a tattoo on my left pinky (half burnt powder particles, under the skin from the first Flinter I ever shot), learned to have that hand far enough from the lock!
