My ground off small primer measures .080 on the outside height. A level scoop of my new prime all makes a very satisfactory bang. I loaded 14 caps with one batch of primer stuff and had left over material. It's going to go a long way for me. I'm happy. I used the exact mix from the directions and sealed it in with the Duco/acetone mix. I did pack the mix dry into the caps (very carefully, just press it in and don't hit it) and then a drop of Duco/acetone. I also dried it with a hair dryer which speeds things up greatly. Do wear eye protection if you do this.

Where do you find .005" brass sheet? I want to try that and see if I can get better revolver caps.
If there’s a local machine shop near you you could stop by and see if they have any scrap pieces you could purchase. They probably gave you some to try. Tell them what you doing, most gear heads are into odd things that go bang.
