I found this on one of the Firearms forums. It's about as close as I could get. It is definitely a Prussian military musket but the description is a little off because of a different musket talked about and the year 1852 could be 1832 on your lock. The numbers on the butt plate are the top 565 is the "rack number" where stored in the armory. the bottom number would be the unit number 38 7 R The initials in the middle looks like S B probably an inspector or armors number. The pictures are dark hard to see due to lighting, if you could take some more from farther away full view of the musket both sides may help because the close up thumbnails have to be enlarged to see details

This is from the Firearms Forum. sadly the pictures are not available.

"Your musket is a Prussian Model 1809, or more technically a M1809/39. The 1818 date is the date of manufacture. It was built as a flintlock and converted to percussion after 1839. The alteration date is probably stamped on the bottom of the barrel. The "772" is the day book number for when it was percussioned. The other number, the 1172 (?), on the stock is a rack number. The lock marking is Neisse, the arsenal which made the gun. The marking reads Neisfe, with the second "s" in the archaic style of an "f"."

Thank you so much that is somewhat of what I was coming up with.
I was confused with the two years on it the one year is 1832 and on the bottom of the gun is 1849.
I will take some better pictures tomorrow afternoon and post them šŸ˜Š

Commonly called a Potsdam though technically yours isn't since it wasn't made at Potsdam. Thousands were imported by both the North and South for use in the Civil war. You are fortunate that the rear sight is still in place, many were ground off after the war, The front sight should be on the front band. Is the sling swivel lug still on the middle band?
