There is "NO" proof that any condor died from eating any dead animal that had any lead from a firearm in it, if your going to ban lead bullets then ban lead from fishing, as Condors eat fish, then theres lead in the Car battries, ban Cars, heck ban all battries, ban dental xrays, ban all can goods that use lead, stupid isn't it! The Anti's are "ONLY AFTER YOUR GUNS"
they could care less for any bird.

There is enough natural and unnatural lead in the waters of CA and in the ground that any rodent could have a high level of lead, rodent becomes road kill, big bird eats it and bam, blame it on a firearm.
Before CA went through with the stupid ban, they should have had to prove beyound any doubt, that yes it was the fault of firearms. The shooting public people of CA should have stood up and demanded it.

Now do you think if Cars were the problem, they would have passed the same law?

IMHO they should still have to prove firearms are the issue and not anything else.

If the non-lead law is written to ban possession of the lead bullets, then what about the law enforcement agencies, corrections, military that carry lead ammo in their handguns? The law should also force them to go to or carry non-lead ammo.........just a thought...might be worth asking/pursuing...I know the ammo carried by them isn't likely to get into the Condor's diet, after all, in California we don't field dress the person that is rarely shot by law enforcement... :rotf: but they do shoot and qualify with lead jacketed bullets on their ranges but if the law says possession is banned, then it should be banned by all......then hey, :hmm: just a thought..............Harold

Well that is an important point. What about the government following its own rules. Kaliforia is
more like many of the Socialist states in Europe
before WW11.
If you recall history the Despots disarmed the people for their own safety. The SS and other Para military groups were given more arms to protect the people.
This whole lead thing is the use of the European Green movement to start the final and total arms ban in Kalifornia. :shake:

well to move for this one reason would not be a good one but when I add up all of them it dose become that at lest for my family. You are right thou how many did say some thing about this when its head first showed? Not many I bet but I did. Same with the talk about lead fishing weights that’s going on. When they first released the condors in calif. they banded lead in the area then. Now the range is bigger and they want the ban bigger and to the end to ban all lead just look at the rages that have been forced to close. The new ammo that comes out bragging about being lead free. I do not blame Caliph for all of this but the tree huggers who I do not believe understand the dynamics of environmental care and usage or renewable resources. Caring capacity of habitat and such. But this isen't the first time Redwing has railed me for being a conservationist. You and I don't seem to have a problem agreeing or disagreeing like adults and I have no problem with sombody who dosen't think the way I do, It's America! It's what makes it great.

I do understand that there is no real evidence of lead bullets showing up in Condors, none of the articles that I have read about said anything about one coughing up a PRB, that said I have no problem doing my part to ensure no scavanger eats any lead projectile I shoot, only to ensure we are in the clear when we as traditional muzzleloaders are targeted by bunny huggers.

Here is my challange w/ what you are saying....
1. There is NO lead issue AT ALL !!! And to say you are "doing your part" (which is a part of foolishness-ala-nothing) you are admitting to a "problem" that dosnt exist thus giving momentum to a movement that is entirely fraudlent!!!
Sorta like "going green" to help w/ "global warming" when there is NO GLOBAL WARMING!
2. There is NOTHING you are going to do that will win over the PETA Freeks aka bunny huggers. It is ignorance to offer up your principals and allies to apease your enemy. After the Earth firsters outlaw handguns they will be after centerfires and THEN your BP and ML's THEN fishing and so forth. Trying to hide in the shadows ONLY ENSURES that you stand and FALL alone cuz you already let every one else down / let them fall!

The anti gun, hunters don't go around calling each other consertives and other right wing names, that I know of

Very well stated and to the point. One of the problems here in the west is the invasion of the
Profiteers. We have had a mass of people escaping the cities of the east and far west.

They want to buy up the land and the game. They want it closed to outsiders. This is being done with many
of these "Green" laws. They have brought with them an army of people and companies who provide them with ease to hunting on and closing public lands to the public. These "Profiteers" or guides without permits hide behind the wealth and power of politics to prolong their profits. They will stop at nothing to rob the public of their rights to hunt and fish. These are "yuppie" baby setters who will back any law that allows them and the Mega Corps. they work for to profit at the publics expense. :nono: We here in Wyoming have seen the take over of Jackson Hole and Teton CO. by these folks. This is the base they work from. This is not only a case of Gun Control but taking from the many and giving to the few. Yes, those of us who live here are fighting back by all legal means.

This is not a division of gun owners. This is a fight by Wyoming Hunters and Gun owners to save our freedoms. The so called Guides used their power and big bucks to derail Handgun Hunting in Wyoming. Their eastern and coastal money men said it would ruin hunting for their big buck hunters.
That is not how the residents in Wyoming saw it. We were able to over ride their power by one vote in 1978 and allow handgun hunting in Wyoming. :thumbsup:
