Please,can you help me?

If I read the information correctly, that 41.8 mm caliber translates into a 1.6" diameter ball that would weigh about a pound. That would take some thought before I put that cannon to my shoulder.

The Rifle Shoppe has parts for a blunderbus that will come close with about a 1" bore.

If I had to guess, I'd say that it was a line throwing gun for shooting a weighted ball and line from ship to shore or ship to ship. The bore is too small to be a grenade. The bronze barrel would indicate that it was intended for use near the ocean.

Check out Lisle line throwing cannons.

My vote is for line gun. I think perhaps "buck-shot" is a bad translation from Russian..... (there had to be someone else that has that book! :winking: )

A normal type blunderbuss of this style could be easily made, though. Other than the barrel, the gun is quite conventional.

You have a true, this pic is from "Antique European and American firearms at the Hermitage Museum by L.Tarassuk.I was in Sankt Peterburg last year but I did not see it there in Hermitage.

I wonder if it's a signal or flare gun.... :hmm:

I've never figured out who came up with the wierdo stock on the gun that's just beneath this one in the picture... :youcrazy:

In this link is a gun like in my pic(from 3,20min) :v
