I bought a Pedersoli Bess carbine a few years ago. I’ve tried numerous loads trying to pull a pattern together at 25 yards including the sky chief load. I’ve used as low as 1oz up to 2oz of #6 shot. Less powder more shot. Square loads and the whole mix. Today I cheated and used some ballistic products slotted shot cups, 75 grains of 3F Goex and 1-1/8 oz of shot. Three cards over powder and 2 cards over the shot cup. This is what I ended up with. After ten shots down range and cleaning there was zero sign of melted plastic in my bore. I’m all about being traditional but a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do!

Nice, congrats on the load.

Did you try the stumpkiller method per chance? I found it while searching for loading techniques on a post from 2013. It’s post number 9 on this link.

I’m going to try it next time at the range.

Would probably be similar results I’d say. I had that bag of plastic shot cups so I gave them a try. Race what ya brought to the track lol.
