I picked this little beauty up at Tulsa. I truly believe it wouldn’t take much to get this one back to shooting condition. Even less so as a wall hanger. I just don’t need it. I picked it up because it looked like it had acquired some recent abuse, and thought I needed to get it somewhere safe.

The nipples come out, and the threads in the breech are good.

The original hammer safety mechanisms are missing. One lock has been repaired, and no longer has half cock, but they both hold and trigger like they should. The main/sear springs are strong and function well. One hammer is a very well replicated replacement. The only markings are on the top rib of the barrel and read:

“Joh. Schubert in Schnebes”

there is some silver left in the lettering.

Both ribs ring clear. Needs two thimbles. Bores are dark, but I see no pitting in one barrel, and just a minor spot of pitting nearer to the muzzle in the other. I do not know if they are Damascus; I have not removed any oxidation in pursuit of further investigation. One bore measures .620ish while the other measures .630ish.

This is a beautiful side by side. The builder had a fantastic eye for detail. Will ship insured and VERY well packaged to protect the broken ends. $200 shipped.
