This years ML season in MN prohibits the use of "Nitro or Smokelesss" powder ML firearms during the regular ML season.

As it should be...sounds like the citizens and wildlife department in Minn. have their heads screwed on straight...kudos to intelligent people making intelligent decisions.

Illinois has always included that in the regs.

Not anymore.

c) Standards and specifications for use of muzzleloading firearms are as follows:
1) A muzzleloading firearm is defined as a firearm that is incapable of being
loaded from the breech end.

2) Only black powder or a "black powder substitute" such as Pyrodex may be
used. Modern smokeless powders (nitrocellulose-based) are an approved
blackpowder substitute only in muzzleloading firearms that are specifically
designed for their use.

We don't have a primitive season in MN, Any ML with open sights including fiber optic sight, but scopes are not allowed only if you would like to hunt the regular center fire rifle season. And yes were glad they prohibited the use of "Nitro or Smokelesss" powder.

Now if they would just have an early ML-only hunt like our neighbors to the south.

Got 8-10" of snow yesterday. Kinda wish I had a tag for the current season, but I guess I'll have to wait and hope some of the snow hangs around.
