Found this site after looking for online muzzleloading information. Primarily interested in small game hunting with BP, although I have a variety of archery equipment and other hand guns, rifles, and shotguns. I just purchased a used Thompson/Center .32 caliber and I'm looking forward to squirrel and rabbit hunting with my new muzzleloader soon!

I assume (not always a good thing  ) you got a Cherokee from the TC maker. They're good little rifles with a fast twist to stabilize the small patched balls at minimum speed. Loads a slow as 10 grains of FFFg can reach .22LR velocity, though a 5 to 10 grain increase usually gives a bit better accuracy. You'll have to shoot and finagle to see what yours likes best!

Welcome from Arkansas, hope you enjoy the Forum as much as I do, I,ve been a tree rat killer for a long time, used a homegrown .32 longrifle for years, Green mountain barrel, Ashmore flintlock. Good luck with the TC, gotta keep the hoards of nut poaching rascals in line. :haha:  :hatsoff: Treestalker.

Welcome from Fort Sill, OK - good to see yet another area guy getting into BP.
