Picked up this sweet little hatchet head at the faire last week and shaved out a haft from a piece of curly maple I had in the shop.
Due to it's diminutive size [4 5/8" long, 2" blade, 1 lb. or less], I initially though that it might be more of a novelty than working tool; but once mounted and sharpened it proved to be a well balanced and hungry little friend, that promises to ride easy on the trail.
