I have taken an interest in this type of arm. I see a lot of brass framed, smoothbore offerings. Most say they take a .310 ball with no patch. What is the scoop on these? Are any rifled? Does it have any measure of accuracy at say 7-yards? What charge powder and what is the real muzzle velocity? I am thinking a few shots a paper for fun once in a while and possibly a trap line gun for 'coons, 'possums and similar varmints for contact range dispatch. Will it work? At $150-175 new it seems a bit much for what you get. If anyone is bored with a used one and want to sell or trade let me know that and PM me....Thanks

Ten grains of 3f, no idea of the muzzle velocity. If you are talking about the ones with the hammer on the centerline about 7 feet would be max. Even a side hammer one with sights would be difficult to hold and shoot accurately. CVA used to offer one that was quite a bit larger than the "Lincoln" Deringer and it would be about the smallest size I would consider practical if you expected any type of accuracy. They can be a lot of fun if you don't expect much from them.
