i etched the blade of this knife as it was quite ruff in finish. the etching did not come out as well as the green river blade but still looks ok.

I got a question at end of the handle where the blade meets the handle.
Is that a nose cap on the handle or is that just the natural wood?
My first thought was it was a cap but on second look I think it may be the wood.
Second question how it end of handle finished? Did you leave it wood or is it capped? I can't tell by the pic!
 
thanks for the kind words guys,the next one i do i mite and fit this pice of stone i found out in the desert country in a dry creek bed to the pomel what do you guys think.
