I saw a thread on another site, where one of the replies suggested that 1842 Belgian muskets had a left hand threaded breech plug. I’ve asked him to point me in the direction of his information, because I’ve not heard of that and never seen one. Anyone confirm or disprove this?

The 1842’s have left hand thread breechplugs. I learned this the hard way....the French 1853’s that had a wider nipple bolster had right hand thread- I think. There was a 3 volume book set on French muskets, text in French, by someone who’s name I forget.

Found it!
