I see the 1816 Musket is now over 1900 (or, in reality, two grand!) so I guess we've crossed a rubicon! With tax and shipping. Oh, well, nobody said this was a cheap hobby!
 
Yah.... and they aint getting any lower in price. I hate to say it but I think the Italians might be pricing themselves out of our market. That price is custom gun territory.

The Italians aren’t doing it; our own government has done it by making our dollar worth less by printing more money with nothing to back it up.
