    Take it apart and make sure the cly bolt isnt hanging up it may have to much grease or lube on it or just a little to tight and may have to be thined down a little where it goes though the frame

    That is normal for that revolver If the cap problem bothers you try changing the nipples with those with smaller holes that has corrected the problem with several of my revlovers

    I had the same problem with my 1862 and ended up replacing the nipples with nipples from the GUN WORKS ( BRAND Butler Creek by Michaels #46043 small dia orfice to reduce flashback ) was about $20.00 with shipping and they work great
