    Smooth rifle squirrel

armakiller and mtmike, I was shooting 60 grns of 3F, an OS card, 1 1/8 of 5s and another OS card. I'm still tinkering with it but I can't seem to get good patterns with a OP cushion wad. I've used post it notes as a shot cup like Roundball and some of the others on the forum have when I was...

    WV Flint Doe

I was fortunate to take this small doe this evening in our late antlerless season. I've bowhunted only for the last few years but I've been hearing my flintlocks calling this fall. I've missed shooting and hunting with them. I used a Chambers, .54 cal, Issac Hains that I put together some...

Those who have killed deer with a .40cal PRB...

Roundball, I've had my flints on the back burner for a while as I've been hunting with my longbows for the last few years. I did a search and found a post I made 7 years ago on my first deer with my then new 40. (Time flies!) My load was 60 grns of 3 F, .400 cast RB and .18 pillowtick...

    Ruger problems.

If you think it's a weak main spring, use the fork method as Bakeoven Bill says and try a small washer or shim between the spring and strut. That will tell you if it's the problem.
