Very nice the moulding lines at the forsstock, buttstock and cheekpiece put it heads and tails above many first time builds and even completed guns from some vendors, you will build more in time I am certain, again nice job at including the needed details,on a very nice project, please take no offense but the type of pathcbox and maybe lock if a Siler might suggest a bit later than an "early" Lancaster as it is one of the earlier shools, just a matter of symantics, the earlier schools need more and more earlier dates to be early so to speak, an early Bucks gun could be circa 1780ish, only a minor point, just someting to look for when researching in the future to fine tune a project, again congrats on a job well done.

Thanks guys,I learned a lot on this one.I learned that you cannot be a good builder if you cant repair your mistakes. It feels good to be finished.squib

I think it looks purty darn good for a first time build. I give it a thumbs up

Wow!!!! You should be very proud of yourself, that is fine workmanship. What is the timber you used? Such a rich colour, warm, bet it feels good in your hand.

What tools are you using for carving and engraving?

Cheers JJ

Hi Laudesan,I bought all the parts from TVM.The wood is maple with a lot of figure.Iam learning about engraving to dress up the brass.Iam not ready yet.Is it cold downunder? We are getting over the hottest summer that I can remember.squib
