The biggest difference is the shape of the grip and how it feels in an individuals hand, the Trapper and Patriot are a little larger and the Lyman is a little longer(in grip).how it stacks up to a Trapper,GreatLyman Plains and Patriot.
I can't say for sure that they have what you need, but your best bet may be to contact Deer Creek Products. They have parts for older CVA sidelock firearms. I don't see a category specifically dedicated to the CVA Hawken pistol, but you might call them and ask what they would recommend.Does anyone know where i can find a replacement front sight for the .50 CVA Hawken Pistol? I have tried many front sights and they just fall out of the grove. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Don't know about the Hawken pistol. I'm in the market for one though. I do have the CVA Trapper (different from the Traditions Trapper) and the Mountain pistol. Great shooters. The mountain pistol is what I carry deer hunting when I choose to carry a pistol. Excellent accuracy in that one.View attachment 96534
A very nice pistol, with good balance. There are others that are more expensive or with fancy engraving or other fancy findings but the best pistol will be the one you learn to shoot with. This is one of three similar in .45,.50, and a special .54. My CVA pistol collection includes many of CVA's pistols, I like both the Hawken and the mountain pistols best. But tis all a personal taste.
