My new swivel gun freshly made by Dom Carpenter.

Looking for ideas and suggestions on what sort of stand to build that would hold up to the recoil.

Thanks in advance,
Keyhole

Have the same problem. Think I am headed to the masonry yard for a cube of rock with a hole drilled for the guns mounting point from the yoke.

A railroad tie or 6x6 would work but I’m hoping for something that is functional and looks really nice

You've never seen swivel gun mounts ? You can make different mounts to fit at different locations . One with long pole to pound into.the ground , one to mount to a wood rail , etc.... Easy to make

Yes I’ve seen them but most are for the smaller bore cannon shooting light loads

This style cannon just does not seem safe for heavy loading. It can be a lot of fun, but be careful with that cannon.
Maybe a tripod stand with enough spread? An old wood survey stand might be worth looking at.

I made this mount to handle the heavy recoil and be portable as well.

First shots today….recoil wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be
