WITHDRAWN John Browning Mountain Rifle 54 cal

A couple years back I bought a couple of rifles from a collector. One was what appears to be a new unfired JBM rifle. This one is brass. No box or paperwork. Photos upon request.

A gem of a rifle! Someone's in for a treat.

Thanks for the info on the Jag. I owned two JBMRs (Johnathan Browning Mountain Rifle) in the late 70's. I used them almost daily.
Since there are way more JBMR owners and or admirers on here there are two tips that I can share.
1, Pin your ramrod tips. If the hudmitity drops the wood can shrink back from the brass. Next thing you know is that you have a jag and a ram rod tip stuck at the breach.

2, When compared to other rifles such as early TC rifles the JBMR can have a soft barrel. Cleaning can damage the rifling at the muzzle. Cleaning rods with centering collars will help protect the barrels. The groups on my rifles started to open up at around 10000 shots fired. I was not using a centering device on my cleaning rods. Lesson learned.
