Well Mark, while I do enjoy your videos very much, I think your results aren't very persuasive this time around. If I may suggest trying five shots each of your .451 & .440 ball loads at 50 yards. I think that would really give a more definitive answer to the question posed.
I've already had someone suggest that same thing.
Although I really hate shooting paper, I'll probably try that to see what happens.
Not sure if I can hit the target at 50 yards. I'll probably shoot them a lot closer..LOL

Hummm, I think that smoothbore might be just as accurate or even beat that in this case too.

A number of years ago the Jacobsburg event trail walk had a scenario where your shooting bag was stolen. You had your gun, horn, and balls/patching provided by the walk leader. The balls were drastically undersized (gun caliber dependent) and the patching was small pieces of various types of cotton fabric. My 0.45, 42", flinter could not shoot consistently, balls flew off at random directions. My friend shooting his smoothbore won the event with a very good score.
