Looks an awful lot like a Uberti made Santa Fe Hawken. I see Branson marked on the barrel, I'm assuming Branson, Missouri. In 1979 I was living in Sedalia and visited the tourist trap called Silver Dollar City in Branson. There was a "gunsmith" exhibit there that sold "custom" muzzleloaders. From what I saw these were poorly assembled kits of various makes. I don't recall seeing any Uberti made Hawkens there and the photo of your gun looks factory built. I wonder if they might have had Branson stamped on them on them then sold them to tourists. It's far too nice of gun compared to what I recall.

After looking around for guns that may have come out of Silver Dollar City I don't think this would be one and as mentioned elsewhere here there was a Primative Arms Company in Branson, I do still think it's a Uberti built gun.

So in looking at the Silver Dollar City website and using their exhibit search I don't find a gun making exhibit. As I recall, when I visited in 1979, they had a gun building exhibit where they also demonstrated running ball and I believe they did some live fire of guns. We can probably all guess why this exhibit, intended to be historical, disappeared.

you got a real good deal on that rifle

like already stated it is likely an Investarms or Ubertti rifle stamped for a dealer

never heard of Primitive Arms Co, google has failed to provide any information, so that tells me they stopped doing business before the internet and they didn't sell a lot of guns

Look for heralds and proof marks under the barrel and around the breach plug. If you find some, post some pictures of them and we can likely find out where/who/when of the rifle.
